Bailiwick in Bloom Competition Week

Residents at Rodley Park have once again decked out their home patch in colour this summer, this year for Floral Guernsey's new Bailiwick in Bloom awards.
This year entering the new neighbourhood category, the residents received some funding from the Coop Community fund to go towards buying perennial plants.
‘We’ve done what we usually do, we all get together and help out because that’s what neighbours are for,’ said resident Katina Jones.
‘We all work together and then we party together and look after each other. If someone needs help, we help them.’
She wanted to highlight the work of Fred Torode, who is in his late 80s and clears the roads around the estate. ‘He does a marvellous job.'
The judges will be around other parishes for the rest of the week.
