Council
Member & RHS Co-ordinator 'Jane
has been on the Floral Guernsey Council as a volunteer since it was set up and has been a keen supporter ever since. She
was the originator of the Floral Guernsey Festival Weeks and until recently was actively involved in helping
create the programmes for the weeks . She now willingly lends support and ideas (for the Festival Weeks) but her main
role on the Council is to coordinate the Royal Horticultural Events on the island. Jane is a keen gardener and the garden
at Mille Fleurs is one of the best known gardens on the island. Together with her husband David, they run a small luxury
self catering business and Jane also organises garden tours to the island.

Volunteers co ordinator 62 year old Bernie Besnard is a life long gardening ‘nut’
who became involved with the Council through his Civil service job. He is keen to actively support all aspects of the Council’s
work but in particular organises the Volunteers for Festival events. He is also working to set up for Spring 2010 a Friends of Floral Guernsey
membership scheme. When not in the garden he is a keen charity distance
runner planning to do the Great South Run around Portsmouth in October and his third London Marathon in April 2010. He also
loves music having something like 950 CDs including some classical music but (reflecting his age!) primarily the 60s / 70s.
